Early April Update

Members, I hope you've been getting our emails as we have sent out multiple updates like this. Generally, we've been sending updates in this order: Sent out via email, posted in our Facebook members-only group and, if need be, on here.

Let's get the dirty stuff out of the way first:

- John S, one of the founders of BSSBA, has been emailing OEBR weekly for his paperwork back. His several hundred dollar check for registrations & transfers was cashed back in the fall of 2017 and he's received nothing in return yet. He also had to refund buyers nearly a grand for lambs sold that still have no paperwork/aren't worth the same unregistered. Out of the blue, he finally got a response back from the OEBR email account - that he's banned for life for starting the new registry. Note: there was no response about his paperwork or money.

- A vague possible announcement was posted on Facebook that OEBR was purchased ... or will be purchased & new ownership will take over on May 1. None of us can confirm or deny this, but we're sharing this in a manner of the openness we have strived to have with all of you for the sake & well being of your flocks. This could be a saving grace for those waiting on paperwork or this could be more false hope. Only time will tell.

All the same, BSSBA is here for you and doing well, so let's move on...

- Over 300 BSSBA Certificates of Registry went out in March alone!!! Robert Mock started his registry with just 350 sheep and I know many of you are still completing and sending in your paperwork for your flocks... so we're just moments away from crossing that milestone!

- BSSBA now have more than 125 members in the US and Canada. We are so appreciative to have each and every one of you be a part of this journey!

- While membership is free, some breeders have been filling out the BSSBA membership form for their lambs' purchasers. From there, they can register their lambs for the new owners to then transfer over or, for this year only, the new owner can take possession and register the lamb(s) themselves, so long as they have a copy of the sir & dam's certificates - options to consider!

- Babydoll Care is crucial for our buyers to be aware of. For this reason, we've been working on a page with all sorts of information. The page is up, but please know we're still actively adding to and updating this new page on our website: http://www.babydollsheepregistry.org/care.htm Member Dianne K has been nice enough to even start compiling suggested protocols and suggestions, which will be added soon.

- BSSBA will be tabling at the NJ sheep festival - our own classic babydoll show! This will be held in September. More details here: http://njsheep.net/festival/

I think that's about it for now. Thank you for being a part of this!
