Registering Your Sheep

Registering

* PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION *

KEEP IN MIND FOR ALL SUBMISSIONS

Each new animal requires its own individual form.

Lambs must be registered in the calendar year in which they were born and you must be the owner of the ewe at the time of lambing to register lamb(s).

A Ram Breeding Certificate form must be completed and submitted to the registry if sire was not owned by the breeder.

For 2018, a head photo that includes the ID ear tag must accompany all animal registrations. The picture must show the entire head/face of the animal, as well as clearly show the entire ear tag number.

Forms, photos & payment should be sent to Associated Registry:
Babydoll Southdown Sheep Breeders Association
c/o Associated Registry
P.O. Box 231 305 Lincoln Street,
Wamego, KS 66547

Membership must be current to register.

Correct fees must accompany the registration form to be processed.

For BSSBA registered animals being transferred, submit original CoR along with new owner information

Please make sure to keep a copy of each CoR submitted for your records.

You cannot hold BSSBA (“Babydoll Southdown Sheep Association”) liable for its acceptance or failure to accept any and all sheep.

REGISTERING NEW LAMBS

At this time and due to the position many members are in with the status of their paperwork, BSSBA is accepting all 2018 and 2017 lambs as if they are being registered for the first time.

To register your lambs, BSSBA requires:
  • A registration form
  • The sire & dam's Certificates of Registrations through OEBR (we are currently accepting clear, colored copies if originals are not available)
  • The sire & dam's head photo with a clear view of their ear tags
  • Lamb's head photo with a clear view of the ear tag

Please contact us with any questions or concerns in registering your lambs

REGISTERING OEBR SHEEP TO BSSBA

To transfer your sheep into the BSSBA database, please send:
  • A registration form
  • The sheep's previous Certificates of Registration through OEBR (we are currently accepting clear, colored copies if originals are not available)

Please contact us with any questions or concerns in registering your lambs

HERDING YOU BACK HOME

BSSBA is hoping to get back any OEBR pedigree sheep who are no longer actively registered if BSSBA sounds like it fits for your flock.

To register your purebred Babydoll sheep:
  • A registration form
  • Option 1: The sheep's sire & dam's OEB Certificates of Registrations (we are currently accepting clear, colored copies if originals are not available) to prove your applying sheep's pedigree
  • Option 2: Your sheep's North American BABYDOLL Southdown Sheep Association's Certificate of Registration ;
  • A full set of photos of applying sheep:
    • Head photo with clear view of ear tag
    • Photos of both side of the full body
    • Photos of the head and rear
    • A clear shot of the sheep's height using two measuring sticks - one on the ground, one at skin level between the shoulders

*- If the sire & dam were also unregistered, but you have or can track down all four grandparents Certificates of Registrations through OEBR, we will accept these as proof.

We will happily accept qualification photos via email (BSSBA2018@gmail.com) as well

Please contact us with any questions or concerns in registering your lambs

TRANSFERING YOUR SHEEP TO A NEW OWNER

Bear with us as we work on the details of this process - Our first priority is getting all pure sheep into our database to ensure their pedigree. The quick jist (but not set in stone):
  • breeder registers lamb
  • once sold, new owner submits a transfer form
*Both breeder and buyer must be registered members to complete process*

Keep in mind that in taking these steps, you are submitting your sheep to apply for registration with the Babydoll Southdown Sheep Breeders Association. This does not guarantee acceptance as all photos must first be reviewed to ensure pure pedigree and that our breed standards are upheld before being accepted and officially registered.
